Celebrity Favorite Scents...

A signature scent...almost everyone has one. You know what I'm talking about you smell a certain fragrance and you instantly think of someone whether it be your mom, a best freind or a guy.  For example anytime I smell CoCo Channel I instantly think of my BFF :) Well celebrities have signature scents too...and I'm not just talking about their own lines of fragrance I'm talking about their everyday go to scent when they want to feel sexy.

Sure some may be their own line of perfume like Kimora Lee Simmons, she loves her own Baby Phat Seductive Goddess, she says " For the holidays, I like having a fragrance that has a little weight to it, and this one has a bite- it's a very exotic and spicy scent, and my very own creation."

Victoria Secret supermodel Marisa Miller loves Victoria's Secret Love Rocks Eau de Parfum, Marrisa says "It's the perfect holiday fragrance because it has a rocker edge with a fruity floral scent to it, which makes it feel sexy and feminine to me."

Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr claims Stella McCartney's StellaNude fragrance as her favorite. She said "It's one of my absolute favorites that I wear all the time. Please always tell me how good I smell when I have it on."

Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser Review

As much as I hate to admit it I have really been struggling with my skin lately. I have oily/combination skin and just haven't been able to control breakouts ...and I'm 27 years old!! (well 28 next week..but who's counting) I have tried alot of different face washes lately, Cetafil...worked pretty good but once colder weather hit it was a little drying on my skin and didn't help fight the breakouts as well as in the summer with combination of the summer sun, then I tried Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash...which really dried out my skin leaving it looking dull and still not preventing breakouts. So after all that nothing has really given me the results I was looking for...results similar to when I was using Proactiv. The only reason I haven't gone back to Proactiv is the cost I want a great cleanser at a low cost...am I really asking for too much?

Well Biore doesn't think so! I was on a mission to find the perfect face wash so I did some research on which were the top ranked. I kept coming across Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser so I finally decided to try it out. WOW am I glad I did!! Not only did it clear up a mild breakout I had within days it prevents them from coming back!! My face hasn't broken out since I started using it on November 30th! That even includes that "special time of the month" when I am always prone to breakouts and I understand why they call it "Ice" Cleanser it's because of the cool fresh feeling after washing your face so it's great wake up in the morning especially for me because I am NOT a morning person. I would definitely recommend this cleanser to anyone like me who is struggling with their skin!

Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser has won the ALLURE Beauty Award for Best Face Wash 2008 & 2009! The bottle also claims to work 68% better than ProActiv.

Here is what Biore has to say about their product...

Give blemishes the cold shoulder

Get an invigorating, cooling clean right down to your pores. Surface oil, dirt, and makeup don't stand a chance against this refreshing liquid cleanser that leaves your skin feeling fresh, clean, and vibrant.

This non-irritating formula strikes a perfect balance between powerhouse acne-fighters and soothing herbal and flower ingredients:

•Salicylic acid helps dry and clear up blemishes and blackheads, and tightens and clears to help prevent further breakouts, penetrating deep into pores to reduce acne in the future.

•Lavender is known for its soothing and calming properties.

•Eucalyptus is known for its ability to help skin feel alive and vibrant

Active ingredient:

Salicylic acid 2.0%
Inactive ingredients:

Water, glycerin, sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate, sodium laureth sulfate, decyl glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, lauric acid, betaine, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower extract, eucalyptus globulus leaf extract, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, glyceryl oleate, sodium hydroxide, polyquaternium-7, menthol, disodium EDTA, BHT, DMDM hydantoin, methylparaben, fragrance

You can pick up Biore's Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser at any local drug store, Target, Walmart etc. I bought mine at Target for around $6. You can also find it at drugstore.com for $7.99 there are also coupons available for the cleanser.

Key to Keeping Skin Healthy and Hydrated...

" Everyone remembers to moisturize morning and night, but the key to maintaining healthy hydrated skin is what happens in between. Keep to-go-sized body lotions at work and in your purse so you can apply lotion throughout the day. At home, keep lotion in your nightstand drawer where it'll be handy for moisturizing elbows and heels before sleep."

Benefits of Bananas...Who knew!?!?

I received this email a little while back from my boyfriends Mom about all the benefits of bananas and I'll tell you I was seriously shocked at the long list! The email came as a forward stating that "A professor at CCNY ( City College of New York ), for a physiological psych class, told his class about bananas. He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain." And then goes on to list the benefits...
Bananas contain three natural sugars: sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. It's no wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
Funny thing is when I was younger and ran track our coaches always encouraged us to eat bananas before each meet. They even called us the banana crew!
But, energy isn't the only way a banana can help keep us fit. It can also help us overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
I am going to be trying this one for sure!

Anemia : High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat high blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach, and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Good to know...very good to know... ;)

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body. So if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan..

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6 and B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain, and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

"So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium, and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe it's time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!" "

Get out there and eat your B-A-N-A-N-A-S!!
P.S. If you break your Bananas apart they last longer!

Too Faced Lash Light Mascara...

Sephora has a new mascara by Too Faced called LashLight Mascara $25 (only at Sephora). The coolest thing about it is the wand lights up!

"This jet-black mascara features a light reflecting formula and an LED wand that shines over lashes for the most precise application."

Here is what Sephora's website has to say about it...

"What it is:
A patented mascara formula containing millions of microscopic mirrors that bounce light off lashes for a super glossy, jet black finish.

What it does:
LASHLIGHT is formulated to thicken, lengthen, and condition while coating lashes with the glossiest of jet black finishes to make eyes look brighter, whiter, and camera ready. A combination of Panthenol and Vitamin C and E keep lashes healthy and Red Algae increases Keratin resistance for maximum lash flexibility. The patented formula contains millions of microscopic mirrors that bounce light off lashes for the deepest, jet black finish that lasts all day.

What else you need to know:
The slightly tapered brush-tip gives you access to even the tiniest lashes, while perfectly spaced bristles give length and separation without tangles and clumps. Also, the exclusive light-up LED wand spotlights every lash for the perfect mascara application every time and the close up mirror on the side of the component is perfect for on the go application. "

Sounds Fabulous!! I'm going to have to try this! Anyone already tried it?

Kristen Bell's Favorite Things...

Kristen Bell the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall is such a cutie! And she is a Michigan girl like me so I have to love that! So what keeps her looking so darn cute??? Check out her favorite things!

Since Kristen is a vegetarian she loves salads her favorite is called the Garbage Disposal Salad...
"Oh my gosh, it's the best! I usually start with spinach, then put in almonds, pine nuts, dried cranberries, blueberries, apples, broccoli, cucumbers, carrots and celery. Believe it or not; it tastes good together. Put some feta or Parmesan on top and you don't even need dressing."

OK now I get why its called the garbage disposal that salad has everything in it!

Kristen also loves Kale Chips.
" A great way to get everything the super-food kale has to offer. Break off the stems and break the leaves into potato chip size pieces. Then drizzle them in olive oil, put sea salt on them, and bake em for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Tasty."

Wen Cleansing Conditioner
"It feels like a conditioner, but it actually cleanses your hair. And it doesn't make you an oily mess."

Kiehl's Cucumber Toner
"It cleans your skin, but it doesn't strip your skin."

The Solution Moisturizer
"It's completely natural-so much so that it goes bad after a couple of months. It's that healthy."

Who Rocked This Camilla & Marc Dress Best?

Mark Sullivan/Getty Images; Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images;Steve Granitz/Getty Images

Who do you think rocked this hot Camilla & Marc dress best?

90210 star AnnaLynne McCord paired this "LBD"(Little Black Dress for those of you who weren't sure what LBD was) with a hot pair of red peep toe pumps a neon clutch and a trendy belt. Eonline reports that AnnaLynne wore this dress first at the Nylon party back in August.

Lea Michele from the new hit Glee rocked her "LBD" at a Fox party back in September. Lea took the more conservative approach with plain black pumps and sans jewelry.

Last but not least...
High School Musical Star Ashley Tisdale rocked her "LBD" last Thursday at the Los Premios MTV event with sexy pair of leopard peep toe pumps and trendy belt.

For me it's kind of a toss up between Tisdale and McCord but I think I'm going to have to give it to McCord her bright colors make a statement and I like it ;)

Who do you think rocked this "LBD" best?
